Pearl & Dean Comparisons

I have looked at some of the films that I have used previously used to research teaser trailers that have been successful. such as 'The Strangers', 'The Blair Whitch Project' and 'The Uninvited'. By looking on the Pearl and Dean website it has given a rough comparable profile of the type of people that went to go and see each of the films.

Below is the univited I have looked at the audeince porfile of who went to see this film at the cinema. no suprisingly the larger percentage of was a male audeince but only just and the majourity of people that went to see the film were between the age of 15-24. There is very little difference in the percentage of males vs. female which I thought the male would be slightly higher.

I had looked at the teaser trailer for the strangers in a lot of detail and feel that it was appropriate to look at the audience that saw this film. Surprisingly the larger majority of the audience that saw the film was female (60%) which I thought would have been in fact male. however as I suspected the majority of the audience were aged 15-24 which really is the main target audience for a horror film and again who we are trying to aim our teaser trailer at.

Here I have looked at 'The Blair Whitch Project' however there was no audience in which this film could be compared. This meant that I could not look at the audience for the film and could not relate to my own film and the audience that we wanted to target for our teaser trailer.

Overall I feel this has been really useful in what I have found out with our target audience and think that this has also been reflected in our own questionnaire that we had conducted. I think that this will effect us in the poster, magazine cover in who we aim this at and also our teaser trailer and how we should edit it together.
